Occupational therapy is about the ordinary things: getting dressed without help, getting through a school day, getting back to a job, getting around your own kitchen safely. So that is where our assessment starts, with the specific tasks that have become hard, not with a diagnosis on a page.
From there your occupational therapist builds a plan around what you actually want to be able to do. That might mean changing how a task is done, changing the environment it happens in, building the underlying skill, or bringing in equipment. Usually it is a combination.
Book online at any hour or call (02) 7227 9893. Tell us who the appointment is for and what has become difficult. Bring any reports, plans or equipment lists you already have.
Your occupational therapist works out what you want to be able to do and where the task is breaking down. Where it helps, that assessment happens in the setting itself, at home, at school or at work.
You leave with practical strategies to start straight away, clear goals, and any written recommendations your funder, school or employer needs.
