What it is

Recovery you can

sit down for.

NormaTec compression boots use dynamic air compression. The boots inflate and deflate in a controlled sequence, moving pressure up the leg from the feet, which feels like a firm and rhythmic massage rather than a squeeze that stays put.

Athletes use them between training sessions, but they suit anyone whose legs work hard, whether that is sport, a twelve hour shift, a long haul flight or a weekend of walking. You sit back in the chair, the boots do the work, and you leave thirty minutes later. At nineteen dollars a session it is a cheap enough habit to actually keep, which is most of why it works.

What we help with

Reasons people

put the boots on.

Seven of the most common, and a fair few of them have nothing to do with sport. Filter to whichever sounds like you, or call (02) 7227 9893 if you want to check first.

Straight answers

What the evidence

actually shows.

Recovery products attract big claims. Here is the more measured version, which is what we would tell you at reception if you asked.

Perceived soreness

Research on intermittent pneumatic compression suggests it can reduce how sore muscles feel in the days after hard training. That is the most consistent finding.

Feeling recovered

Subjective recovery scores tend to improve. Worth having, because feeling recovered is often what determines whether you turn up to the next session.

What it does not do

It is not an established performance enhancer, and it does not replace sleep, food and sensible training load. Anyone selling it as a shortcut for those is overselling it.

Why people keep booking

Thirty minutes, nineteen dollars, no downtime and nothing required of you. The low barrier is the point, because a recovery habit only works if you keep it.

How it works

Thirty minutes,

start to finish.

No referral, no assessment appointment first, and nothing to recover from afterwards.

Book

Book online at any hour or call (02) 7227 9893. No referral needed, and sessions are $19.

Arrive

Come in comfortable clothing. Long pants or leggings work best under the boots, so bring them if you are coming from work.

Sit

Settle into the chair, slip the boots on and start. They inflate and deflate in a controlled cycle for thirty minutes while you read, scroll or do nothing at all.

Leave

Slip them off and get on with your day. There is no downtime and nothing you need to avoid afterwards.

Before you book. If you have a history of blood clots such as DVT, severe peripheral vascular disease, or recent leg surgery, check with your GP before booking a compression session. If you are unsure whether something in your history matters, call us on (02) 7227 9893 and ask before you book rather than after you arrive.

Why us

Easy to try,

easy to keep up.

Most recovery services ask for a commitment before you know whether you like them. This one is nineteen dollars and half an hour, which is a low enough bar to simply find out.

What are NormaTec compression boots?
They are recovery boots that use dynamic air compression. Chambers in the boots inflate and deflate in a controlled sequence, moving pressure up the leg from the feet. We use genuine Hyperice NormaTec units. A session at our Leichhardt clinic runs for 30 minutes and costs $19.
Like a firm, rhythmic massage moving up the leg. Snug rather than painful, and the pressure is adjustable, so tell the team if it feels like too much. Most people settle in within the first few minutes and spend the rest of the session reading or on their phone.
$19 for a 30 minute session. No referral, no assessment appointment first, and no membership or block booking required. Pay as you go, as often or as rarely as suits you.
Comfortable clothing. Long pants or leggings work best under the boots, so bring a pair if you are coming straight from work or from the gym in shorts.
Runners and gym goers after hard sessions, people who spend ten or twelve hours a day standing, travellers after long flights, and plenty of people who just have heavy legs at the end of the week. You do not need to be an athlete to book.
The research on intermittent pneumatic compression suggests it can reduce how sore muscles feel after hard training and improve how recovered people report feeling. It is not an established performance enhancer, and it does not replace sleep, nutrition and sensible training load. We would rather tell you that upfront than oversell it.
For most healthy adults, yes. There are conditions where compression is not appropriate. If you have a history of blood clots such as DVT, severe peripheral vascular disease, or recent leg surgery, check with your GP before booking. If you have any doubt about something in your medical history, phone the clinic before booking rather than deciding on the day.
Yes, and plenty of people do. Physiotherapy and remedial massage are in the same building, so you can pair a session with either. Mention it when you book so reception can line the appointments up back to back rather than leaving you an awkward gap.
There is no set schedule. Some people book after every hard session or long run, others use it weekly, others only after a race or a flight. At $19 a session you can work out your own rhythm without committing to anything.
